Peter Laird Sketch 1986

Hey guys. Today I received this piece in the mail. It's a sketch of Leonardo vs Howard the Duck by Peter Laird from 1986. It's a 8.5 x 11 sketch that seems to be have been done at a convention. At the moment its the earliest TMNT piece in my collection. 1986, that's a year before I was born lol. Hope you guys like it.

Comic-Con 09 - Artwork

Last Friday I attended the San Diego Comic Con with my younger brother and I gotta say we had a blast. It was our first convention so we had alot to do and see. I was mainly there to meet the Mirage Studios people, which I did. Pretty awesome people. I was able to get sketches from most of them plus two commissions. The first one was by Dan Berger. He drew a Donatello for me.
Second, I got a Casey Jones done from Eric Talbot. He does some of my favorite Ninja Turtles drawings. It came out pretty cool.

I was also able to get two pieces of original artwork from my friend Andres Ponce. One was from the Fast Forward comic book only available in the UK and the other one was a page from Tales of the TMNT 61. Check em out.

Saturday July 18 Shellebration (Los Angeles)

Right now I'm getting my things ready for SDCC, which I will be attending Friday. I'm pretty excited and can't wait. Last week I went to the TMNT tour bus stop in Los Angeles which was at Golden Apple Comics. There I got to see Kevin Eastman, who was signing and sketching for the fans. This time I was prepared, since last time when I met him I did not have my sketchbook ready, this time I did. I was able to get two sketches, actually one was for my brother. Below are the sketches we got.

Also, I got two of my comic books autographed, my TMNT #1 second print and TMNT # 4 second print. Pretty awesome. I'll be posting pictures from SDCC after Friday.

Andres Ponce Turtle Cardboard Sketches

I just received these sketches directly from Andres Ponce himself. He drew each turtle on a cardboard measuring 25 x 17.5 cm each. My personal favorite from all four? Raphael.

Check out Andres blog at http://andresponce.blogspot.com/

TMNT VOL.4 #30 w Sketch..es

I was able to get one of those limited edition TMNT #30 with a sketch from Peter Laird, actually I got one that includes a sketch of all four Mirage Artist. I think I read on Peter's blog that there was only 5 of these made. How lucky am I?? I'm digging the comic and sketches. Thanks Mirage team for taking all the extra time to make the sketches on the comic books.

Convention Book w/ First Sketches

Here is a sketch book I won on ebay from one of the Mirage Studios personnel. I asked him if he could maybe get me a few sketches from the Mirage team and to my surprise when it arrived it did have some. I was pretty pleased and thankful for that extra effort. Pretty cool way to get my sketchbook started :)

1990s Cartoon drawings

Here are two different drawings from the 1990s kids cartoon. The are not signed so I am not sure who specifically drew them. The first one shows Don, looks like he's ready to attack, and the second is of  Raph, Mike, and Leo looking shocked!!

Mike Dooney March of Dimes Splinter

This is a sketch card of Splinter by Mike Dooney donated for a March of Dime auction this year (2009). It's a pretty neat card, specially because I rarely see sketches of other characters other than the turtles.

2000 Kevin Eastman Raph Sketch

Here is a sketch from the other creator of the TMNT Kevin Eastman. This one I got off ebay since I had not been able to meet him, little did I know I would get to meet him a month later at the Free Comic Book Day signing in Los Angeles. I got two comics autographed that day, I'll post pics of those later on.

2009 Peter Laird Sketch

One of my friends met the co-creator of the TMNT, Peter Laird, and got me this sketch earlier this year. I still have not met him myself yet, but hope to this summer at San Diego Comic Con 2009. Here's the sketch.

1995 Autographed T-Shirt

I got this autographed kids T-shirt a few weeks back. It is dated 1995. It has a autograph plus sketch from Mirage Studios artist Michael Dooney, Steve Lavigne, Mark Bode, Jim Lawson, Dan Berger, Ryan Brown, and both TMNT creators Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman. It's one of my favorite pieces since it has most of the artists signatures and a small sketch. Pretty cool piece.
